Trust.
We give it freely, but hopefully wisely to those we believe in. What happens when the Trust is lost? How can we revoke those privileges? Sadly not as simply as it was given.
Knowledge and understanding is the best we can do. If someone misuses the Trust we will need to understand for our self what that means. Take all that is offered and learn from it. We as humans make mistakes. But we as humans do not need to lower ourselves to get even with others. We might like to but in the end we need to learn from each endeavor.
Situations happen. Why is not always something we get to learn? However sometimes we need to try and do our best at understanding what went wrong and how in the future to perhaps not repeat those steps. Each situation brings opportunity. It may not be an opportunity that we wanted but in the end we need to try and learn from it anyway. Take it for all that it is worth, knowledge. One more piece to a very large convoluted puzzle.
Seek out fun but when that may not be possible do the best that you can. Step away from tough situations and see the larger picture. Learn it is the one thing we can always do. Truth lies within.

Giving your trust is a tricky thing. You often have to decide how much to give and sometimes it's wise to keep a little back for your own safety. Some people prove that they weren't worth the risk but that's the beauty of humanity--we're all different and we're all fucked up in our own wonderful ways. All you can do is view it as a lesson learned and move on. Take care though not to set your standards so high that people have no choice but to disappoint. Keep in mind that whole being human thing.
Or one could just decide to not give it out anymore, hence safety all around.
True. That's a choice. But it's not one that opens you to wonderful possibilities.
