Higher powers...hmmm ....

I was asked this question last night, do I believe in one. I said I did, but was unsure of what that power was. Thinking about it made me realize, I am that power. Life is what we make of it. It is based on choices we make. Granted how others and society reacts to that choice may change the paths direction, but in the end we decide what, where and when to move.

My beliefs are based on truth and finding it. Looking in for it is the only answer. One can only control ones self, hence we move our own destiny. We are that power that effects us every moment of our live. Others help us along with support and advise, but in the end we make the decisions that propel us forward.

For me to base life thinking another power is out there seem false. It creates a space for us not to do our very best this time around. To think we have more shots later on, seems counter productive to this life. Regardless of age or history or anything else, it is proven if you want to change something bad enough you will. The end result may not be where you were originally headed or even hoping for, but why not try?

We must think everyday we awake as a new beginning to tomorrow and where we want to be in the future. Choices are not all easy or pain free, but in the end for us to reach for that place of truth, we must stretch and grow. Learn from the past and respect the future and its unknown path.

We can create happiness but in reality we don�t need to. We just need to open up our eyes and see it all around us. You are here reading and breathing. That alone is worth thinking positively about. Life is a splendid thing, why wasted any of it? Take the opportunities that arise and enjoy them all. Whether it is a smile from a stranger or a hug from one we love. Look and feel your surroundings that alone is an absolute awesome thing. Don't wait for something bigger and more powerful to come along. Enjoy what you have and you will see the higher power in yourself.

Our lives are all filled with less than positive things, we though have the choice to evaluate and deal with them the best we can and move on to the more positive features in our lives. We all have that option. Some choose different views. My hope for humanity is that more people live life choosing to see the splendor surrounding us all.

Look for your truth. I feel it is worth the trip.
