Shopping Frenzy...
Here be a story...
One cannot sleep fearing they will miss hearing the rarely used alarm clock. Hence they end up getting out of bed around 1245am instead of 345am when the clock is set. Now trying to go back to sleep is useless, so they choose to think about all the things they *may* want to get at Best Buy for the incredibly low prices posted on there Day After Thanksgiving Sale. (Foolish)
So a splendid walk in the full darkness of night and the incredible sounds of rain heavily falling around them. More time to utilize those shopping plans...*Perhaps if things go well one can pop upstairs to Target and see what they have to offer on this grand and crazy morning.*
Once returning to the abode thinking it is too damn early to eat, hence a nice warm shower will wake me up thoroughly. After the refreshing scalding shower one feels ready to take on the world and then head to work for few hours to complete the day. Perhaps if feeling well enough one could even pack some more or start the amazing cookie baking frenzy?
It is now around 330am time to gather the goods up for the nifty wait in the early morning hours with perhaps a few other crazy folks. On the very short drive one thinks they are the only ones up with the lack of any other cars on the road.
Baaam...the day starts to sink in, turning the corner to the 5 story parking garage entrance next to the park and ride a police car sits and a officer pointing me towards the park and ride which looks like a work day almost full. The sign above the garage flashing full...hell one had never seen that before in the 5 years they have been driving to this Best Buy/Target.
Note this was the opportune time to turn right around go back home give up this foolishness and crawl back under the covers for few more hours. But no this would not be the track one took. They parked and started walking towards the commotion.
Stunned amazement ...how could there possibly be this many other foolish people at 4am? Fire marshals and police walked around warning everyone that the capacity to the building was 300 and they would only let that many in at a time, hence the other approximately 4500 folks would need to wait outside. Very friendly (poor bastards) Best Buy employees were walking around with clipboards that once held vouchers that had long been passed out to those very lucky few in the front of the line.
One actually asked the poor blue shirted fellow if there was a shot at getting one of them splendidly cheap computers. The laughter was heard and the response; those are long gone, and ANYTHING on that spiffy ad that one so meticulously viewed and planned from was completely sold out.
Balloon busting...the air had left all of the senses. Time and craziness finally kicked in; hence the exhausted stupidity finally sets in. One deflatedly drags there tired ass back to there vehicle with people still surprisingly pouring in to stand in the worthless line to get nothing.
Of to a few measly hours of work with the let down of nothing gained today.
However through it all one looks back and can laugh. Realizing lesson learned. We may not want things free, but we do want cheap and even within that realm is the realization that one may be willing to pay full price for the item for a reason. Hopefully this lesson will be remembered for many years to come. One made these same mistakes over a decade ago, hence one was young, let us hope one can hold lesson a bit closer to the memory banks for the future.
The night is here and sleep may be taken early...perhaps gaining a few of those lost hours. Shopping this weekend is on hold. Forget the darn good deals, there is a reason for them and they are not for this person.
Good Luck and Peace.

At some point you have to decide how much your time is worth and whether or not that great deal is really worth spending all night in the cold. Mike is wacky and decided his was. I was warm and snuggly in my bed.
