Awoken
...to the lovely sounds of rain. Two days in a row. Sadly it has already stopped by the time I got to work. But one believes it will return soon enough. I am truly not meant to be a sun worship type person. The dingy gray drizzle filled days inspire. The shadows, textures, scents and sounds of those days or so much more filling and rich with life. Opportunity runs and screams to be taken and played with.
What more could one ask of weather? Its ability to shape our day and mood is striking and yet people continue to only want what is not available. We each must endure our surroundings. In that endurance would it not be wise to embrace it for all that it gives?
Realities of life leave us in a place perhaps not our ultimate dream and perhaps not even to our liking. But within that realm for those days in and out shouldn't one accept what is?
I would curl up and die in the desert or worse yet in the humid hot south. There is beauty surrounding both in so many ways. Opportunity to visit and enjoy those sites is wonderful. But in the end I fit here. Even when it seems I don't.
I can take my city see it openly and say dandy. Number one we had more than our share of sun and heat this summer, but hey fall is here now! I made the best of what I could this summer of heat. Since this summers averages were 15-20 degrees hotter than normal I feel I did well.
But I happily can look forward to the gray wet dark chilly days of fall. Others seem to be stuck on summer with the constant stream of complaints about the current state of weather. What? Where the hell is there reality? This is Seattle! Move south if necessary otherwise join us back in reality of our beauty. Accept it, 'cause this person feels it be splendid.
Peace and Beauty.
