Pipe Dreams

Beyond the usual Lottery wouldn't it be nice, sometimes other ideas and "slim possibilities" lead to hope of what one inside knows is unrealistic and yet each straw of hope is held onto tightly.

Sadly I am slow enough that the consequences of it not happening or so high and yet, I am still let down even when I know reality does not hold that card.

Hope is all one has and I wonder if it runs out?
